Memphis Cutchlow is an multimedia artist based in Chicago interested in the relationship between the subconcious, nature, technology, and the self. She uses a combination of video collage, found objects, wood & laser cutting, and various textiles and media to create art centering the splintered human relationship with their environments, their senses of self, and what it means for both to inevitably decay.
She is currently a fourth year at the University of Chicago studying Media Arts & Design and Data Science, using a background that is both creative and technical to explore what it means to create in a digital age and the impacts of data-driven values on our own worldviews.

physical collage
I've been a bit of a memory hoarder my entire life, and the use of several forms of media both physical and digital acts as a testament to that. This piece has two main components, a wall with a physical and digital collage and a pillow fort in which you are invited to sit. This piece is a jumble of memories, some of which are my own and several of which are not (though the audience is not meant to fully know the difference), intended to make physical the somewhat mismatched, thrown-together, or cluttered qualities of a childhood bedroom, a pillow fort, a collage, or a half-lost memory.
